Kyle was a three time all First Team Defensive Back while majoring in History.  Kyle also played four years of football at Amador High School and was 1st team all-area running back in 2001. He was the JV co-Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in 2009 with his brother Jason and Freshman Offensive Coordinator in 2010. He then went on to coach at Del Oro High School for two years as the DBs and Special Teams coach. Brad Hunkins
Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers/Running Backs

Coach Brad Hunkins joins the Woodcreek Varsity coaching staff as Co-Head Coach and Defensive & Special Teams Coordinator. He brings with him a wealth of football experience from both college and high school levels as both a player and coach.  He was most recently at Roseville High School for the last 2 years as the Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Line & Defensive Backs Coach and took the team to 2014 Section Playoffs. Before that, he was at Lemoore High School where they were the West Yosemite League Champions.  Coach Hunkins also coached at Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods. He played linebacker and tight end at Amador High School and was All Conference his senior season.  While Coach Hunkins was at American River, he started his freshman year and was team Captain and all conference selection his sophomore year.  At Humboldt State, he was Captain both years and Honorable Mention All Conference.  Coach Hunkins is hard but compassionate and full of energy.  His coaching style is mostly influenced by his father, Scott Hunkins, and grandfather, Rex Chappell, as well as his junior college defensive coordinator, Jerry Haflich, HSU defensive line coach, Solomona Tapasa and head coach Rob Smith. Each have passed along some traits and insights into his coaching career such as mental toughness, hard work ethic, intelligence about the game, how to teach/coach all positions and build caring relationships for the young men that he coaches.  The connections and impact that he has on the young men that he coaches is what Coach Hunkins enjoys most about coaching. Besides being successful on the field, he hopes to have a positive impact that will last beyond their 4 years at Woodcreek High School. In addition to that, there is nothing more exciting to him at a high school campus than Friday Night football.  He will be teaching Military History/Government & Economics and PE at Woodcreek this year. Coach Hunkins is married to his wonderful wife, Justine, and they have just had their first child, Landon Scott Hunkins, in May 2015. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to camp, fish and hike.
