Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

In his third season as Woodcreek Varsity Head Coach, Coach Kyle Stowers expects big changes are on the horizon for the Timberwolves. Coach Stowers graduated from Occidental College in 2006 where he was a member of three SCIAC championships. Kyle was a three time all First Team Defensive Back while majoring in History. Kyle also played four years of football at Amador High School and was 1st team all-area running back in 2001. Coach Stowers brings a wealth of experience from Colfax High School where he coached for four years, including two league championships. Two of those years he coached Varsity OLB and Special Teams. He was the JV co-Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in 2009 with his brother Jason and Freshman Offensive Coordinator in 2010. He then went on to coach at Del Oro High School for two years as the DBs and Special Teams coach. At Del Oro he was a part of the 2011 team that won the SFL and made the State Championship game before falling to Helix. Kyle teaches History and PE at Woodcreek High School. Coach Stowers is married to Lani Stowers and has two boys, Landon (5) and Blake (3). They are expecting a new daughter coming in October! In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Brad Hunkins
Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers/Running Backs
Coach Brad Hunkins joins the Woodcreek Varsity coaching staff as Co-Head Coach and Defensive & Special Teams Coordinator. He brings with him a wealth of football experience from both college and high school levels as both a player and coach. He was most recently at Roseville High School for the last 2 years as the Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Line & Defensive Backs Coach and took the team to 2014 Section Playoffs. Before that, he was at Lemoore High School where they were the West Yosemite League Champions. Coach Hunkins also coached at Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods. He played linebacker and tight end at Amador High School and was All Conference his senior season. While Coach Hunkins was at American River, he started his freshman year and was team Captain and all conference selection his sophomore year. At Humboldt State, he was Captain both years and Honorable Mention All Conference. Coach Hunkins is hard but compassionate and full of energy. His coaching style is mostly influenced by his father, Scott Hunkins, and grandfather, Rex Chappell, as well as his junior college defensive coordinator, Jerry Haflich, HSU defensive line coach, Solomona Tapasa and head coach Rob Smith. Each have passed along some traits and insights into his coaching career such as mental toughness, hard work ethic, intelligence about the game, how to teach/coach all positions and build caring relationships for the young men that he coaches. The connections and impact that he has on the young men that he coaches is what Coach Hunkins enjoys most about coaching. Besides being successful on the field, he hopes to have a positive impact that will last beyond their 4 years at Woodcreek High School. In addition to that, there is nothing more exciting to him at a high school campus than Friday Night football. He will be teaching Military History/Government & Economics and PE at Woodcreek this year. Coach Hunkins is married to his wonderful wife, Justine, and they have just had their first child, Landon Scott Hunkins, in May 2015. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to camp, fish and hike.
Doug Warner
Offensive Line
Coach Doug Warner joins Woodcreek as the new Offensive Line Coach. Coach Warner has been coaching football for 25 years and his resume includes stints with Placer Jr. Hillmen, Jesuit and Del Oro High Schools where his offensive lines paved the way for mega rushing seasons almost every year. During Coach Warner’s tenure at Del Oro High School, he coached a 1000 yard rusher every year and had back to back 2,000 yard rushing seasons 2009 & 2010. Coach Warner has 9 all-time rushing records at Del Oro. During his four years at Jesuit High School, the Marauders rushed for 2,000 yards in back to back seasons and in his 3rd year, they had a 4,000 yard rushing season and 3 playoff wins, with their best finish in ten years. Coach Warner has been married to his wife Lynda for 32 years, and they have 4 children, Dane, Vicky, Haley, and Ron. Coach Warner is also the owner of Aqua Life Aquarium in Rocklin since 1991.
Jeff Moenning

Coach Jeff Moenning has been coaching at Woodcreek High School for 5 years. This will be his 2nd year as the Varsity Wide Receivers coach. Coach Moenning enjoys seeing his player develop athletically but more importantly he enjoys being there for them not only as a coach but also a mentor to guide them through the game of life. Watching players develop a hunger to be the best player and person possible is what fuels his passion for coaching. Coach Moenning is married to his wife Kellie and has 2 sons, Tyler (19) and Jake (16). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, camping, and attending various sporting events.
